After owning a 20’ Ford Class C RV and using it around town on a weekly basis (my big “station wagon” with large rear window) I sold it after 5 years of ownership! Although I had vinyl wheel covers, daily California sun rotted out the 4 exterior tires. Only the 2 inner ones were adequately protected from the elements parked outside. In the long run, it’s cheaper to rent an RV if you don’t use it at least 50% of the time to live in & travel. The older the rig became, the more mechanical & sun damage issues occurred even on a “low mileage” vehicle! Eventually I sold it and bought a 2020 Promaster City camper van which I can safely store inside my condo garage.

I’ve lost a bunch of weight to get to my current 6’0” 212#, on my way to 185#. My GP doesn’t even check my A1C anymore, so diabetes is at bay, as long as I mind what I eat. I’m pretty sedentary except for carpentry work I do during my church renovation projects. I think the RV lifestyle work be a benefit for me, since it would get me outside biking and hiking more.

I loved watching this video. I could really relate to them. I’ve owned my leisure travel for two years but I have only used it about few months because I live in Hawaii and I store it in the mainland. So every time I go to use it there’s always something that I have forgotten to do. I started labeling all my switches so I know where everything goes to and what I do first. That might be helpful For a newbie. Example is before I put the fridge on propane I must turn on the stove to make sure it is getting the propane through the pipes. Once the stove is on then I can switch my fridge over to Gas.The labels may not look the best but it saves me a lot of time from going to the manual and trying to remember what I’m supposed to do. After I use it more I can take my little tapes off and eventually work my way to being like other RVers and just know. I do use your list that you published for my walk around and checking on things. The tires I just take to Les Schwab and let them deal with the pressure because the farthest I’ve ever taken it is a little over 300 miles one way. This last August I did buy all six new tires from them so they don’t have a problem helping me out. I know tires are the number one issues of accidents. I did not put sensors on them I just keep The pressure where it should be. The best thing I like about owning it right now until I get more time to use it is that it’s my bedroom, bathroom and kitchen on wheels. When I visit friends and family I don’t feel I am intruding on their space because I already have my bed, my clothes, and my toilet with me. I also am on a different time frame because of being from Hawaii so I don’t feel bad about getting up and making my coffee or being in their way of getting ready to go to work. Most of the time I do shower in their house but I have all my own towels so I’m not making any extra work for them. I love it a lot and can’t imagine being without it. Someday I’ll take it on a long trip. Aloha

I agree with Chris. Most people do not realize how hard it is to loose weight. I eat substantially LESS than most people. I would have to eat ONLY 1/2 meal each day, in order to loose weight. I have been battling this for 20 years. Thin people don't get it.

On health - there are some who take their home with them on wheels along with their sedentary lifestyle (outdoor TVs?? really??) and others who love the ability to cook and eat healthier on the road and take the opportunity to walk and hike and bike in the amazing outdoors near the campsite or wherever RVing brings us. We love the healthier aspects of this way to travel and experience, along with the constant learning that RVing provides. We tend to eat healthier on the road than while at home due to more pre-planning.

RE renting, I think it would really depend on where/from whom you rent because if it's not a well equipped rig, with instructions, it will be unnecessarily challenging and not as fun.

I got a newbie screw up i will pass on...Bought our class C Forester in 2018 upon retirement...Very first trip in it we got approx. 1 mile from home before it happened....I , in all my wisdom, had filled a drawer we had under the oven with all my cast iron pans...I have a few to say the least...Well, guess i didnt close the latch or whatever all the way, went around a corner and all i heard was a big KABLAM !!!! Looked back and the drawer was all the way out laying on the floor with the rails to the drawer pulled off the mounts...Real bright move there i tell ya...Needless to say, the cast iron was removed and i carry ONE FRYING PAN now....lesson learned to say the least...

At age 59 I was facing knee surgery - and I realized being 5’3” and 170 lbs, I wasn’t going to have a happy, healthy life going into my 60’s and beyond. So I changed (1) my diet which at that time was meat and veggies, started working out 3 days a week, got an exercise bike and slowly worked up to an hour at a time. And I lost the extra “me” and have never felt better!! At 70 yrs old and vegan for 6 years, I have never felt better and my energy is amazing! Some of my 55 yr old friends cannot keep up with me. Your diet is a choice. I chose health and happiness. Thx for your great videos and honesty. ☮️💜

Sounds like these folks might not be aware of the Pleasureway owners group. And they should consider joining a club and attending a PW Rally.

Obesity is a chronic disease just like cancer, diabetes, etc. We need to begin treating it as such. This would make people seek help before the excess pounds cause other chronic issues. I am 5 ft 2 in and have weighed over 200 lbs my entire adulthood (I am 63 years old). My high weight was 330 lbs. I have worked on reducing my weight steadily for the last 7 years with some success but it is a constant struggle not to gain the weight back. Last year, I looked into bariatric surgery which is a life saver for many. I had surgery in April and currently weigh 213 pounds. I will continue with this struggle for the rest of my life, but bariatric surgery makes it easier to lose and keep the weight off. I'm glad I took this step and already feel much better. We all need to begin treating obesity the same way we treat any other medical disease; and health insurance providers need to cover its treatment. There is much more help available now than there ever has been. We should love, support, and encourage each other to overcome all challenges, especially physical ones that are readily apparent.

The Dog Story reminds me of a story my rural State Trooper about one hunter at a diner with a Great Dane in the back of his pickup with deer tag on it! the cop went into the diner and found the guy whom own the truck and the owner wasp road of "deer" he bagged! the cop had top explain to this city slicker that he shot someone's dog during hunting season!
